BEAR Grants
The Baylor Engagement and Recruitment (BEAR) Grants provide supplementary funding for departmental-level events for the recruitment of new graduate students and promoting collegiality, scholarship, and community among current graduate students and faculty. The Graduate School and GSA jointly fund these grants, which have a maximum of $300. Departments will be expected to contribute an additional 50% of the requested grant amount, making the maximum amount of funding a single department may apply for in one school year $450 (calculated: $300 from the BEAR Grant and $150 from the department).
We currently ask that you apply for BEAR grants 4-weeks before your event.
Eligibility: All Baylor University graduate students and campus organizations may submit proposals.
Procedure
- Complete and Submit the BEAR Grant Application.
- Answer any questions or address any suggestions offered by the GSA Executive Cabinet.
- The GSA Executive Cabinet will vote on each request.
- Upon GSA Executive Cabinet approval, funding will be provided on a reimbursement basis (save all receipts!). Upon approval, the detailed reimbursement procedure and Ignite instructions will be sent to the applicant via e-mail.
NOTE: The Graduate School will no longer reimburse individual students through Ignite. All purchases must be made by the department in order to be charged to GSA.
