Emma Cartisano
Vice President of Communications
Ph.D. Candidate, Higher Education Studies & Leadership
Emma Cartisano is a fourth-year doctoral candidate. She earned her MA in Higher Education and Strategic Leadership from Messiah University in 2020. Her research focuses on student success broadly with two current projects: 1) how supporting community college students’ basic needs improves completion and retention rates; and 2) the relationship between graduate student thriving, interactions with others, and navigation of vulnerable experiences. Emma also has a podcast (Grad Life 101) where she shares this research and more—all in the name of increasing community and solidarity in the grad student experience. When not at Baylor, you can find Emma in a coffee shop reading or chatting with friends, in the CrossFit gym lifting heavy weights, or working on a craft or new hobby.Â
